Clownfish live with anemones. Anemones are in fact flesh eating animals that look like plants. The clean anemones by eating the leftovers and also eat their dead tentacles. Clownfish also help anemones by circulating water around them. This is not one-sided as anemones also help them by protecting them from predators. Without the help of anemons, the clownfish will be an easy prey.

These small brave fish are known to bite scuba divers. They grow only 2 to 5 inches in length.

They are all born male. When the female dies, the most domiment male changes its sex to become a female.

They are protected from the poisonous tentacles of anemones by a layer on their body which is made up of mucus. They are also called anemonefish.

They lay thousands of eggs. Interestingly, all their eggs can survive and hatch which is a rare phenomenon among fish. Also, they lay eggs during the full moon.
