According to the scientists there are 33 types of mammals inhabiting the Gobi such as: Argali (Ram) Tekh (ibex), Irves (Snow leopard), Hulan (Wild Ass), Zeer (Steppe antelope), Havtgai (Wild camel) and Mazoalai (Gobi bear).

The Gobi occupies 1,300,000 square Kilometers across Mongolia and China.

The winter in the Gobi desert can get as cold as minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Gobi is the source of some of the most incredible fossil finds in history, including the first dinosaur eggs and many other fossils.

Researchers claim that ancient people lived in the Gobi 500,000 years ago.

Many researchers consider the Gobi Desert to be the harshest desert on Earth.

It is mainly rocky, with shifting sands and salt marshes at lower levels.

The desert is sparsely populated, mainly by nomadic herders.
