The region of Oceania includes American Samoa, Fiji, Kiribati, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Western Samoa and when it is used as the name of a continent it also includes Australia.

Australia is a continent, a country and an island also. It is surrounded by the Pacific and Indian Oceans. The capital of Australia is Canberra.

Australia lacks mountains of great height, it is one of the earth’s flattest landmasses. The average elevation is about 300 m (i.e. 1,000 ft).

Australia was settled by Europeans in the late 18th century. Today, the descendants of these settlers and the remaining aboriginal populations are working to live together in harmony and peace.
