Facts about Magnificent Frigatebirds

Previously, it was sometimes called Man O'War, due to its rakish lines, speed, and aerial piracy of other birds.

The Magnificent Frigatebird spend days and nights flying. The only other bird known to do so is the Common Swift.

Males are all black except for a scarlet throat pouch which is inflated like a balloon in the breeding season.

After mating, the male magnificent frigatebird leaves female who then take care of the young while the male then looks for another mate.

They are about a 100 cm long and have a wingspan of about 215 cm.
